My PLN

For my Professional Learning Network I attended the Ontario Teachers Federation information session held at Brock University for all teacher candidates on October 26, 2012.

I will use the information gained from this presentation more for my personal life than my professional life inside the classroom. I learned that this federation will represent me as an educator and represents over 150,000 teachers across the province. It was beneficial to learn about the voice behind teachers and the initiatives they undertake.

This presentation was mandatory for all teacher candidates to attend yet, it was a good learning experience for all.  I discovered  the professional development opportunities that teachers of the federation can participate in. During the presentation, they used power point to deliver their messages which was quite professionally done up with images that complimented the ideas being put forth. They combined showing websites and the power point presentation, and both visuals would be a good strategy to use in lessons in the future.
